What is Zero Data Retention?

Zero Data Retention (ZDR) is our commitment to minimising how long we hold your sensitive financial documents. Unlike services that store files indefinitely, we automatically delete everything within 12 hours of upload.

What Gets Deleted?

• Original uploaded files - Your PDF bank statements
• Deduction reports - The analysis results we generate
• Temporary processing data - Any intermediate files created during scanning

The 12-Hour Window

When you upload a document:

1. Your file is processed and scanned immediately
2. You have 12 hours to view and download your deduction report
3. After 12 hours, all files are permanently deleted
4. Deleted files cannot be recovered - not even by us

Why We Do This

Bank statements contain highly sensitive information including:

• Account numbers and sort codes
• Transaction history and spending patterns
• Names and addresses
• Financial balances

By automatically deleting this data, we reduce breach risk and ensure your information doesn't persist longer than necessary.

What We Don't Delete

Our ZDR policy applies to uploaded documents. The following is retained separately:

• Account information - Email and preferences (for your account)
• Usage records - Page counts and timestamps (for billing)
• Payment records - Transaction history (required by law)

None of this includes the actual content of your bank statements.

Your Responsibilities

• Download promptly - Don't wait until the last minute
• Save locally - Store results on your own secure systems
• Re-upload if needed - Simply upload again if you need to rescan
